When the People Come Together - Photographs from the July 1st Protest

July 2nd 2014 July 1st has been synonymous with protests in Hong Kong since the 1997 handover of the British Colony to Beijing. As citizens took to the streets to show solidarity over a range of issues, including universal suffrage, human rights and general opposition to mainland China, Hong Kong’s netizens armed themselves with their iPhones and shared the experience with the world.
