There’s nothing like a nice cold pint and a good old-fashioned pub quiz to break up the working week, and luckily for us, there’s one on almost every night of the week in our non-stop city. So why not gather together some of your friends and put your knowledge of trivia to the test at one of the best pub quiz nights in Hong Kong?
Tucked away at the bottom of a neon-lit staircase on Wyndham Street is a hip hole-in-the-wall bar called The Aftermath. Not only are they supporters of local live music and arts, but they also lend their venue to the popular Millennial Quiz Night for two Mondays of the month.
Previous themes include cool Britannia, 1990s cartoons, and Harry Potter, but one thing’s for sure—quizmaster Bailey Atkinson will never, ever ask any question that pre-dates 1981. Prizes for the winning team range from disposable cameras and Champagne to sponsored goodies like CBD products and craft gin, but all quizzers can expect to get a participation ribbon (because there’s nothing more millennial than that).
When: Twice a month on Mondays, check Millennial Quiz Night’s Facebook page or Instagram for details
Where: The Aftermath, L/G, 57–59 Wyndham Street, Central
Book: Call? What are you, a boomer? Just buy a ticket for a team of two or four on Zicket.
Why not kick off your week at The Queen Vic in Wan Chai? Everyone’s a winner here, with prizes being awarded to all teams that take part, and the jackpot prize of $500 bar vouchers going to the winners. Each team can have five members maximum, and there are usually 10 teams taking part. A great way to beat the Monday blues!
When: Every Monday at 8.30 pm
Where: The Queen Victoria, 110 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai | (+852) 2529 7800
Book: No booking necessary, just turn up on the night

The Jockey Public House is a small yet cosy pub that receives much love for its friendly neighbourhood vibe. Facing the southern end of the Happy Valley Racecourse, the popular joint has indoor and outdoor seating, so you don’t have to fight your way through the crowd, and with cash dining vouchers up for grabs, it’s a definite winner in our book.
When: Every first and third Tuesday of every month at 7.30 pm
