Located on top of one of the city’s hottest new arts venue, Piqniq is a dining terrace that is open throughout the day, serving all-day dining and late-night bar menus.

Putting a huge emphasis on design, the centrepiece of the whole venue would be the massive, polka-dotted pumpkin created by Yayoi Kusama, which is the first thing you see when you step out of the lift.

There are beanbags, wooden stools, greenery, and strings of lights that add to the adventurous outdoor atmosphere as well. Make sure you try one of their Piqniq Baskets (starting from $198) or their signature Wagyu Sando ($428)!

Piqniq, Rooftop, H Queen’s, 80 Queen’s Road Central, Central | (+852) 5200 1683

This half indoor, half alfresco restaurant claims to bring the world’s best pizza to Hong Kong! This unique venture’s rooftop faces the Tai Kwun artistic district and is a great place to go for a drink if you don’t want to be trapped in the rowdy streets of Soho below. Their in-house bartender Giancarlo Mancino whips up classic Italian cocktails with a twist for you; pair it with some of their finest pizzas and you’re all set!

Kytaly, 5/F, Carfield Commercial Building, 77 Wyndham Street, Central | (+852) 2808 1961

Nesting on the top of the Murray and overlooking the whole of Admiralty and Central, Popinjays is a contemporary lifestyle rooftop restaurant and bar that is a must-go for anyone who is on the hunt for beautiful aesthetics.

Their rooftop bar surrounds their entire restaurant, so you can move from city view to mountain view in just a couple of steps. Designed by acclaimed architect Andre Fu and his team, you can be sure that every corner of the hotel (including the rooftop) is an Instagrammable spot!

Right outside of ICHU Peru is a secret garden known as ICHU Terraza that rocks Peruvian vibes. Inspired by the mountainous terrain of South America, the design of the furniture mimics the natural rock formation of Peru’s scenic landscapes, adding in modern touches like a DJ set at the far end of the bar.

This inner-city oasis is surrounded by lush greenery, so you don’t even feel like your in the heart of the financial district. Try their signature Ichu Pisco Sour ($120) and bounce along to some Peruvian beats!

ICHU, 3/F, H Queen’s, 80 Queen’s Road Central, Central | (+852) 2477 7717

With stunning panoramic views of Hong Kong Island, and front row seats to the Symphony of Lights laser show, Eyebar earns a well-deserved spot on our list of the best rooftop bars the city has to offer.

Of course, the range of gorgeous cocktails available on the menu helps too—who wouldn’t love sipping on a Suzie Wrong on a huge 30th-floor terrace atop the iSquare shopping mall? If you’re more of a beer or martini drinker, though, head there for Sunset Hour on weekdays and enjoy hefty discounts on your favourite tipples.

Located on the 32nd floor of the EAST Hotel, this venue boasts an enormous outdoor terrace, comfy low sofas and armchairs, and some pretty chic cocktails to boot.

What could be sweeter than sipping on a Rosy Smile or Passionate Dragon as you relax to some electronic DJ beats and lap up the breathtaking views of North Point, Quarry Bay, and Tai Tam? Head there between 5.30 pm and 7 pm on weekdays to enjoy $68 vodka cocktails and wine during the Sundowners happy hour.

Step out onto the lush, tropical terrace at Honi Honi and you’ll feel a million miles away from Hong Kong’s urban jungle. Located in the heart of the city on Wellington Street, this cheeky tiki terrace is the perfect spot to kick back to some tribal beats and escape the metropolis with a cocktail in hand.

Honi Honi boasts the most expansive list of rums imaginable and more than enough delicious Polynesian-themed cocktails to get you in the summer spirit. Be warned though, they’re devilishly moreish... and how could anyone resist a Honi Honi Kiss? Larger parties can opt for the Freaking Pineapple punch, which serves up to eight people, or the insanely huge Around The World, which caters for 12.
