There are 2 places which I love most for seafood in HK - Po Toi and So Kwu Wan. The only problem is that they are both a little difficult to get to. Po Toi only has a few ferries running on the weekends (might even only be Sundays and public holidays) and So Kwu Wan is easy enough to get to but I always find it hard to get back from. I know some of the restaurants have their own ferry but my favourite doesnt!

Does anyone have any recommendations for seafood on Hong Kong island?

Lei Yue Mun - East Kowloon just through the Eastern Tunnel (Yau Tong MTR).

I love that it still retains that old fishing village feel - it's an all around great experience not just great seafood.

Sai Kung is one of the best place for seafood! It is abit far, but it is a great location for a day out!

I was asking for on HK Island! But yeh.. I guess I could make the trek over to the darkside.

I actually did have seafood in Sai Kung over the weekend, it was really good! And I thought all the staff were really nice! But then my friends who spoke Chinese said they were actually being a bit rude.. just with a smile on their face.

Not sure about Lei Yue Mun (will check it out though!)

My favourite for places for Chilli crab are either 'Under the bridge' in Wan Chai or Jordan Temple street! For your first time - make sure you ask for mild not spicy, and have a glass of water on hand.

So this got me a bit confused me today..

Vanessa said that Lei Yue Mun is just through the Eastern Tunnel, the Yau Tong MTR station. Then today I was driving from Stanley, had just passed Chai Wan and before you come onto the Eastern corridor I saw that there is a Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village. I was so confused because I was certain that Vanessa had said through the Eastern tunnel..

Anyways, I just looked it up and thought I would share it with anyone else who didnt know before... There is a Lei Yue Mun on HK Island and Kowloon.

Lei Yue Mun on Kowloon is famous for its seafood market and restaurants.

Lei Yue Mun on HK Island has former military defense facilities and I'm guessing is now used for a park and holiday village.

Lei Yue Mun actually refers to the short channel between Junk Bay and Victoria Harbour. Its the East gate of the harbour and the land on each side are called Lei Yue Mun.
