Christmas is in the air! Not only is this the season for gifting and gathering with loved ones, but it is also the season for feasting. One of the many things that Hong Kong does well is festive menus, and city dwellers are certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to Christmas! We have compiled this exhaustive list of the best Christmas menus in Hong Kong to help you plan your festive feast this December.

Going beyond the classic turkey dinner to spice things up with Asian flavours, the Christmas menu at Spices is quite different from anything else you’ll get to try this December. Sitting inside the restaurant or on its coastal outdoor terrace, you’ll get to enjoy a roasted whole suckling pig served with pomelo and crab meat salad, papaya salad, green mango, roasted zucchini, and eggplants all prepared Thai-style. The turkey satay, the Asian lobster Thermidor, and the Sri Lankan-style duck and turkey meatball coconut curry are also available. The drinks menu is temporarily filled with festive cheer, in the form of The Repulse Bay mulled wine, the Southside longan tea, and an orange ginger ale. Feast (Food by East)

A series of Christmas buffets is being served at Feast this December. Festive buffets include fresh salads, seafood options, table-served roast Norfolk Bronze turkey with chestnut stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce, and Australian bone-in shoulder ham with spiced honey and orange glaze. Unusual desserts such as the croissant bread and butter pudding with brandy custard and the pecan mince pies deserve a try. Having recently opened an outdoor seating on the Tseung Kwan O promenade, Bistro La Baie is celebrating many things this December. For the occasion, from 22 till 26 December, the French restaurant will serve a Christmas set lunch and a Christmas tasting dinner. Included in the meal are foie gras- or oyster-based appetisers, a confit duck brioche burger, butter pan-seared lobster, or a ribeye steak with fries for main course, and seasonal desserts. Over at The Aubrey, celebrate Christmas with a festive brunch on 24 or 25 December. Alongside starters and desserts, the izakaya brunch set focuses on sushi and oysters, as well as katsu sando and robata skewers. The menu is inclusive of a glass of bubbly, and a free-flow package is also available for an added fee.

On Christmas Eve, The Aubrey is serving a one-night-only five-course dinner. Japanese oyster, sushi and sashimi, a choice of miso black cod, wild mushroom fried rice, or Wagyu beef tenderloin, followed by a chocolate mille-crêpe cake, all make up this omakase-style dinner, inclusive of a glass of bubbly.

Finally, on 26 December, why not indulge in one of the Boxing Day bento sets? The Three Layer bento set, the chirashi don set, and the donburi set are all available between 12 pm and 2.30 pm on Boxing Day at The Aubrey.

Available throughout December, 69 on Jervois is serving a Christmas lunch which includes a tomato basil soup, pumpkin salad or a seafood cocktail, a traditional roasted turkey breast with trimmings, and a crème brûlée. Other main-course choices are the Spanish pork rack, the pan-seared seabass, and the prime sirloin steak. The festive dinner menu is also inclusive of the restaurant’s signature starters such as Scottish haggis balls and octopus tentacle with hummus, shallots, and baby spinach.

A special menu is served all day on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day comprising of beef barley soup, a choice of pumpkin salad or crab cake, a choice of roasted turkey breast with trimmings, Spanish pork rack, rib-eye steak, or pan-seared halibut, and a choice of Eaton mess, chocolate ganache, or Earl Grey crème brûlée.

Niras, Bangkok’s Le Du’s sister restaurant located in K11 Musea, is serving a six-course special menu during the festive season. Straying away from classic Western festive flavours, the Thai restaurant will serve prawn with scrambled egg and pad Thai sauce, grilled sticky rice with fish and mushroom with yanang leaf sauce, duck with eggplant and green curry, and more. Niras’s signature grilled lobster, a recipe from Le Du, is available for an added fee.

Four Seasons

Exclusive Christmas menus will be served for lunch and dinner at Caprice on 24, 25, and 31 December. The lunch will be a six-course menu, the dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be a seven-course meal, and a six-course dinner will be served on 31.

On the same days, over at Lung King Heen, a nine-course dinner will be available, with dishes such as a wok-fried Australian quail fillet with mushrooms and bamboo shoots, a braised whole South African abalone with sea cucumber in oyster sauce, and cream custard dumpling with sago and orange zest.

For a more relaxed experience, you can try the festive lunch buffet at Argo from 23 till 26 December, and from 30 December till 1 January 2024.

This Christmas, enjoy a four-course festive dinner at Southside Bistro! The menu includes smoked salmon and crab meat roulade, pan-roasted Australian-farmed barramundi, and coffee hazelnut chocolate cake, with an added two-hour free-flow drinks package on offer. A festive lunch is also available with a weekly rotating menu of seasonal items, such as smoked turkey Caesar salad, butter-basted turkey breast with winter vegetables and apricot chutney, and pan-seared Hokkaido scallop and baby asparagus risotto.

Over at Umami, patrons are treated to an eight-course Christmas set dinner menu, serving teppanyaki lobster with sea urchin sauce, mini negitoro don, and an adorable Yuzu Snowman to end the meal.
