Japanese 24-Hour Discount Store Don Quijote to Open in Tsim Sha Tsui

In a bid to tap into the local consumer market and the booming mainland tourist trade, Japanese discount chain store Don Quijote is set to open its first Hong Kong location in the Mira Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui in July. Here’s everything you need to know.

The famous one-stop-shop megastore Don Quijote, also known as ‘Donki’, sells a plethora of consumer goods, from basic groceries, electronics, makeup, and clothing to suitcases, and more. Many Don Quijote locations in Japan are open 24 hours for those who fancy a late night snack or a last-minute shopping spree, and while we’re still waiting for the official announcement from the store, rumour has it that the Hong Kong branch will only be open until midnight.

Don Quijote will lease the 15,000 square-foot space currently occupied by fashion retailer Collect Point in Mira Place. Aside from the large shopping section, the Hong Kong branch will also feature a cafe for mid-shopping coffee breaks to lure in locals and mainland tourists. Well, we don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to get splurging. Watch this space.
