Sell-out durian-themed buffet returns to Hotel ICON

By Gigi Wong 11 September 2019

Lovers of this divisive fruit won’t want to miss this! If you couldn’t get a seat to the first iteration of this incredible feast, take note that the Malaysian durian-themed brunch buffet is making a triumphant return to Hotel ICON. Due to the incredible demand of their inaugural brunch, they have extended the themed offering to lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner! Available from September 14–October 13, expect an extensive array of savoury durian dishes created by native Malaysian chefs, including the crispy Oatmeal Durian Fried Prawns, succulent Fried Pork Spare Rib with Durian Cheese Sauce, and Crispy-fried Bean Curd with Creamy Durian Sauce.

Aside from hot dishes, the other unmissable highlights, of course, include the extremely popular desserts created by the Durian Prince, Hotel ICON’s Executive Pastry Chef Danny Ho. Make room in your stomach for his new innovations like Durian Kaya Sandwich, Durian Milk Tart, and the all-time favourites, Homemade Durian Ice Cream and Durian Pineapple Buns.

If the pungent smell—and your breath—become a bit too much to bear, there’s always room to try out the rest of the Hotel ICON buffet, which features their much-adored selection of sizzling Asian specialities, such as a fresh selection of seafood including Alaskan King Crab Legs, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Laksa Lemak, and Beijing Roasted Duck.
