Few things in life are more invigorating or bracing than the water of life, whisky. Curious about that enigmatic description? It all has to do with the name. Did you know that the word ‘whisky’ is derived from the Gaelic word uisge-beatha, which translates into the water of life? It later came to be pronounced as ‘uski’, which then turned into whisky! In the spirit of celebrating life, Whisky Live Hong Kong is back for its third anniversary in PMQ on October 12!

Organised in conjunction with Whisky Magazine, Whisky Live is the international celebration of whisky, bringing different whiskies of the world together under one roof. This amazing occasion is a prime opportunity for enthusiasts to mingle with world-renowned whisky makers, master blenders, and brand ambassadors. This year, Gin Place and British and Scottish Zones are added to increase the diversity, so you can sip on other delights in-between your whisky experiences.
The event will showcase more than 500 whiskies, offer masterclasses, concoctions from Hong Kong’s premier mixologists, whisky and food pairings from renowned chefs, and a range of entertainment programs with a high-end lifestyle focus. Whether you are a whisky enthusiast, an uninitiated newcomer, or just looking for a different kind of boozy day out, Whisky Live has something for everyone, providing an opportunity to learn and enjoy some amazing delicacies and innovative cocktail creations in a fun, festive setting.
In collaboration with Whisky Live, Rhythm in a Cask Music Festival will be held in the Qube of PMQ from 6pm. This festival, with a focus on rhythm, explores the scope of nowadays music genres in Hong Kong. With musicians coming from different musical backgrounds, including Alan Po (lead vocalist of Mr.), expect a hybrid of funk, r&b, jazz, soul, and blues—a sound you don’t normally find in indie band concerts. This eclectic atmosphere provides the perfect vibes for chilling out and tasting quality whisky!
