Christmas Day is right around the corner now, and we have already seen a lot of Christmas markets come and go over the last month, but December still has plenty in store. Here are 13 fairs and markets for you to wander through with a cup of mulled wine while picking out some last-minute Christmas bits and bobs. Throw on your best festive scarf and head out to see for yourself what lies in store!
Inspired by Dresden’s Striezelmarkt, one of Germany’s most well-known Christmas markets, Mira Place brings a touch of European Christmas shopping to Hong Kong this festive season. There will be exclusive pop-up stores offering handmade gifts and European foods, and Mira Place’s own 50-plus shops will have discounts of up to 70 percent off. Aside from the expected Christmas tree, the focal point of this market is the Christmas windmill, embellished with colourful stained glass, and flashing lights. Every half an hour, there will be even a Lights of Dresden Christmas music and light show at the Atrium.

What better way to celebrate the arrival of Santa Claus than a festive market dedicated to his homeland of Finland? Hosted by the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, there will be a Christmas program filled with entertainment for the whole family, while shoppers can find both Finnish and international products on sale. Food and beverage options will also include special Finnish specialities, so do go on an empty stomach!

The Mercatino is a popular charity event organised each year by the Italian Women’s Association, and its biggest attraction is the bazaar. There will be over 90 stalls selling branded clothing, accessories, toys, electric appliances, and much more. A gourmet corner will also offer Italian dishes and snacks sponsored by some of Hong Kong’s most famous Italian restaurants. Chill out and do some festive shopping the Italian way, and know that your money will be going to a good cause.

King George V School has modelled their Christmas event after a concert under the stars, placing the spotlight on the school’s musical groups. Expect to see performances by the Jazz Band, Choirs, Orchestra, soloists, the staff members, and a huge choral group comprising of all Year Seven students. There will be a variety of food, merchandise, and activity stalls run by both local businesses and KGV students.
A specific focus this year is on celebrating Hong Kong’s foreign domestic worker community, so everyone is encouraged to bring their helpers along for a fun evening together.

Pop by the Hive this Saturday for delicious snacks, boutique accessories, speciality homeware, pet supplies, and more. If you still have yet to finish your Christmas shopping, this will be a good chance to make a dent on your list! There will also be a Christmas live music performance, as well as two DIY workshops where you can make your own dried leaves necklace and lip balm. Don’t forget to register your attendance before you show up!

After rooting around at the Hive event (see above), hop on over to Momentai by the waterfront for a chill evening of music, mulled wine, and good vibes. This is a must-attend for Christmas song lovers, because the music will get started at 5pm, followed by a community sing-a-long from 6pm. There will also be a Christmas market pop-up selling snacks, jewellery, books, candles, and other such trinkets. The event will be raising money for ImpactHK to help Hong Kong’s homeless—everybody needs a bit of love and warmth over Christmas, so do support!

This year, Stanley Plaza brings an interesting twist to the traditional Christmas market, combining the concept with science in an interactive event designed for visitors to find pockets of happiness. We hear you can create your own light-up cotton candy personalised with your lucky colour, which already has us completely sold. There will be 50 festive booths selling everything from gifts, special treats, nibbles, with exclusive shopping redemptions. Of course, the area is pet-friendly as well, so don’t forget to include your fur-ever friend in the outing! The Happy Chemistry Christmas Market will run on the first three weekends of December.

Stock up on fine wines and alcohol for your upcoming Christmas parties with this speciality Christmas market organised by the Asia Wine Service & Education Centre. There will be over 100 wines and sakes for you to sample, as well as bites to go along with the booze. Meander your way through the various fantastic F&B suppliers, such as Amorosso Fine Wines, Monsieur CHATTÉ, Schmidt Vinothek Hong Kong, Cella Masumi Asia, and the Dutch Cheese, and see if you can decide on your favourites for party season. Tickets are on sale at $100 for AWSEC Club members and $150 for non-members.

The DB Sunday Markets are always a jolly affair. There’ll be a wide selection of unique and handmade items that will make great Christmas presents, as well as creative goods made by local artists. Browse around for hidden gems and support our local businesses at the same time! After all that shopping, it’s a simple matter of collapsing into one of the many eateries at D’Deck to get your bearings, which will then get you a free ferry ride back into Central. That’s what we call a win-win situation.

Okay, this one isn’t particularly Christmassy, but quality meat produce procurer Meatmarket.hk is organising an exclusive, heavily-discounted festive market. Expect to find curated produce, butchery specials, and cellar door prices on wines and gourmet goodies. This is a great chance to get your Christmas party mains sorted so you don’t have to stress over the menu any more. RSVP on their website, and you’ll even receive $200 to spend on the day!

This two-day market festival is returning to the idyllic Pui O Beach with a wide selection of quality gifts, wine, and health products. The little ones will be suitably entertained with face painting and other fun activities while the adults indulge in their shopping. Head on over to the Annual Treasure Island Charity Beach Ball after the market on the evening of 14 December, where there will be a roast dinner buffet, free-flow drinks, live music, and dancing. Tickets are $580 per person, and proceeds go towards supporting the Lantau Animal Welfare Charity. Starting from noon on 15 December, the festival will also be combined with the South Lantau Children’s Christmas Party.

Kafnu and Gwen’s Boutique will be doing a Christmas edition of their Sustainable Sunday Market. Find gifts for your loved ones that won’t leave you with a lingering feeling of guilt with 20 curated green brands, many of which are locally produced and support marginalised communities. There will be secondhand clothing, used books, handmade bags and accessories, artisan baked goods, and home furnishing, all of which come from sustainable brands that work on being kind to the environment. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Plastic Free Seas, an organisation fighting to rid our oceans of harmful plastic. Register your attendance for free entry.

Every year, Prestige Fairs hold five one-day fairs at the Conrad Hong Kong. If you haven’t been yet this season, there’s still one more session to go until we hit Christmas proper. Browse through dozens of stalls selling clothes, jewellery, homeware, accessories, and a whole range of gourmet food and beverage options. Prestige Fairs makes a point of sourcing diverse vendors and entrepreneurs from all over the world, so you’re more than likely to find products that you won’t come across in shopping malls or other markets. As the cherry on top, visitors to the fair will be entitled to a 20 percent discount on select cafes and restaurants within the Conrad on the day of the event—what’s not to like?
