Stunning Video Takes us on Flight over Lamma Island

By Sophie Pettit 30 October 2017
You might remember Jack Shirley for his heavenly drone video of Hong Kong that broke the Internet earlier this year. Well, now the talented 32-year-old is back with another stunning video of our city and this time, he's taking us on a flight over Lamma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIGxKiBK2Oo The aspiring British filmmaker has quite the knack for capturing the picturesque island in all its natural glory, using his DJI Phantom 4 drone to film breathtaking footage during a scenic hike along the Family Trail. Scattered with lush greenery, sandy beaches, and humble fishing boats, it's hard not to fall in love with the charming island in this beautiful clip. "Lamma is a beautiful island and therefore deserved a drone video to show it off", Jack tells Localiiz. "It has lovely views, nice beaches, a very cool nightlife vibe, and great restaurants and bars along the seafront — if it wasn't for the ferry commute, I'd move there myself." When he's not busy teaching English in the classroom, Jack loves nothing more than to explore Hong Kong with his trusty drone soaring overhead, and like many of us who live here, he feels the need to change misconceptions that our city is merely a concrete jungle. "When I moved to Hong Kong, I was delighted to find out there is so much beautiful countryside here, that's why I like to make these videos - to show people that there is so much more to it than skyscrapers and concrete. Well, that and to make my friends and family back home jealous!" We think it might have worked, Jack. Visit Jack’s YouTube channel to see more of his videos of Hong Kong.
