As we come back from extended periods of work-from-home arrangements, it is essential for companies to focus on building team camaraderie and spirit. Regardless of whether you are a small team in a start-up or part of a global team in a multinational corporation, creating an afternoon of fun and purpose can help bring people together, creating greater synergy and collaboration moving forward! With that in mind, we have put together a list of team-building activities—from games to charity, team development, or even just a party, there is something for every team!
If you are looking for fun, easy activities as a way to get to know your colleagues better and develop some untapped skills, look no further! Here are some of the best entertaining activities to do with your team.
Escape rooms are a great way to truly get to know your colleagues—whether they are the patient puzzle-crackers, team motivators, naturally inquisitive types, or just cannot wait to get out of there and grab a beer. With a bit of mystery and a sense of accomplishment once finished, an escape room is a fun-filled gathering for all teams!
Both Lost and Freeing HK are famous escape room companies with branches in Mong Kok, while Lost also has locations in Causeway Bay, Central, Cheung Sha Wan, Tsuen Wan, and Repulse Bay.

If your team is feeling a bit antsy and you need to find a way to let off some steam while having fun, paintball, laser tag, or war games might be just right for you! Shooting each other with paint, lasers, and Airsoft guns has got to be good for team morale, right? Impact Force CQB is the largest indoor wargame facility in Hong Kong, while City Hunter in Ngau Tau Kok has a sprawling 10,000-square-foot space, where you can either play war games or laser tag. Meanwhile, Crossfire Arena in Lai Chi Kok offers archery tag, bubble soccer, laser tag, dodgeball and even classes on how to wield Jedi-worthy “neon sabres” in its fun, neon-lit space.

While karaoke nights might be a regular for you and your friends, karaoke is also a great team-building activity if you want to see your team unwind! It helps your slightly shyer colleagues a chance to let go of their inhibitions, and also allows the louder ones to shine! Given that karaoke is built for groups and there are a plethora of venues to choose from, it is easy to organize and will undoubtedly be a hit!

You get to have your cake and eat it too? A great team-building activity is to get everyone together to see who can make the best food—and of course, you all get to enjoy it at the end. Being in Hong Kong, you have tons of different cuisine options, but some that you can’t go wrong with include the fool-proof baking tutorials at BakeBe, huge range of Western cooking classes at Mixing Bowl, beginner-friendly classes on Hong Kong-style dishes at Local Cooking Experience, or of course, ABC Cooking Studio which has a little bit of everything!

Sometimes, the best way to bring people together is to do something for others. Hong Kong has a number of different charity and volunteer opportunities that are not only fun but also help give back to the community!
Despite how much we might love going to the beach, Hong Kong doesn’t have the cleanest beaches or waters. A number of different charities organise regular beach clean-ups, and you can organize one just for your team or office with the help of great charities like Hong Kong Clean Up and Plastic Free Seas! And after a day’s worth of hard work, you get to admire and enjoy the results of the beautiful, spotless sands—what could be more rewarding than that?
What is better than spending time with your colleagues? Spending time with your colleagues while petting dogs, of course! Most of the animal rescues around Hong Kong are always in need of a helping hand, whether you go to walk the dogs, clean the kennels, or help fundraise. Hong Kong Dog Rescue and Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation are just some of the rescues that always welcome volunteers, but you can also click here to check out our comprehensive list of animal rescues.

This incredible charity works around the clock to reduce food waste and help feed people in need in Hong Kong. Your team can contribute either by joining the bread run—where you can collect surplus bread from bakeries near closing time and bring them to the charity’s collection points—or by helping out during the warehouse sessions by sorting and repacking food.
Fun and games are a great way to address team spirit and collaboration, but sometimes a little extra is needed to help the team work as effectively and cohesively as possible—which is where organisational psychologists and team development coaches come in. With comprehensive analysis, interactive activities, and constructive feedback, these individuals and organisations can change your way of working for the better!
