Japanese Drugstore Matsumoto Kiyoshi is Coming to Hong Kong

By Doris Lam 19 July 2019
It was just last week when Japanese 24-hour discount store Don Don Donki opened in Tsim Sha Tsui, but it seems like good news just keeps coming. Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Japan’s top drugstore, will be opening in Hong Kong soon!

Announced on The Nikkei, Japan’s premier financial newspaper, the report states that Hong Kong consumers consistently show a large demand for Japanese pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, skincare, and healthy food products, fuelling Matsumoto Kiyoshi’s decision to open a branch in the city. Japanese drugstores are a must-go spot for many Hongkongers when visiting Japan—and for good reason. These one-stop-shops are famous for everything from skin ointments, muscle pain relief patches, and multi-vitamins, to diet pills, popular sheet masks, and makeup. While details have yet to be announced, stay tuned and check back often for further updates. In the meantime, brush up on your Japanese vocab!
