Hotal Colombo

Stroll along Elgin Street, and it would be hard to miss the bright baby pink walls and gleaming shelf display of the Hotal Colombo shopfront, designed to masquerade as a colourful convenience store. Making for a seriously charming backdrop, there is no mystery as to why this entryway is one of Soho’s most photographed spots. Brought to life by Dix Design and Architecture, it is as if this candy-coloured, whimsical space has been ripped straight from a Wes Anderson film.

Push past the angled front door into a chic reimagining of a Sri Lankan roadside canteen that brings out the zest and spice of casual Lankan-style eats and shared plates, featuring items like kothu and dosas spread amongst an array of fresh sambols. Its light pink walls are balanced alongside a complementary shade of pale blue, with a tiled bar seating area that adds a touch of kitsch not unlike that of a tropical resort’s poolside minibar.

Pane e Latte

Transplanting the seaside air of the Amalfi Coast to the waterfront of Stanley, this pasticceria by day and barroom by night is a rouge pink sight for sore eyes. Patrons are greeted by an expansive countertop display of fresh daily bakes, boasting a range of beautifully tailored pastries and signature bomboloni, as well as luscious gelato selections.

An all-enveloping sense of domesticity seeps from the homely interiors framed with shuttered floor-to-ceiling windows, and roseate walls dotted with vintage paraphernalia sourced from Milan and Torino. Indulge in the decadent signature croissant bomboloni and savour the mesh of flaky pastry against a rich orange blossom cream centre whilst you get comfortable in the billowy striped cushions that could have been lifted straight from a romantic European summer home.

Lady Nara

The sister restaurant of Nara Thai Cuisine, this flagship has roots in the Central Embassy of Bangkok, where similar Thai-style reimagining of classic Western fare and café bites are plated up. Known for the laidback-yet-vibrant style similar to those found in Bangkok’s coolest urban institutions, the space is awash in a muted shade of blush, with accents of light green and brilliant emeralds. Aside from making use of its first-class view out towards Victoria Harbour, there is a playful (and photogenic) alcove that hosts a rattan swing embellished with lush imitation roses and twirling vines, making for a pretty-in-pink locale to add to your feed.

Speciality desserts and drinks meld traditional flavours with continental dishes—like the Thai rose tea lava cake or the butterfly pea latte—and there is a whole plethora of à la carte dishes that shine a spotlight on fusion cuisine done right. For a taste of something totally distinct, try the cheesy krapao nachos and the lobster tom yum bisque.

Lady Nara, Shop 3303, 3/F, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City, 3–27 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui | (+852) 2153 3730

Madame Fù

Set against the backdrop of colonial Tai Kwun, Madame Fù is a salon that embodies uniquely Hong Kong stylings that draw upon Cantonese influences and continental sensibilities. Divided into themed spaces—each with its own perfectly composed set-ups—the aptly named Pink Room is one of their most popular dining rooms.

Designed in tribute to the fictional Madame Fù, we can only imagine the lavish evenings and glamorous luncheons that would have taken place amongst these couches if she had actually existed. Sample their contemporary Cantonese offerings that have been honed to present a more refined and updated palate, or come for their iconic afternoon tea set and live out your best Anna May Wong fantasies.

Floom Floom (花香)

A brighter and pinker branch of its sister café—also named Floom Floom (烏語)—this K11 Art Mall branch of the new wave Asian fusion café emphasises Taiwanese eats and specialities. The main attraction that draws in eager Instagrammers is its adorable wallpapered corner of pastel-coloured candy hearts dotted with quirky little phrases, which sets aside a space for diners to go into full supermodel mode.

Not only is the shopfront a spectacular sight, but its edible offerings rise to the challenge, too. Arranged to resemble Mount Fuji, their rice with Spanish Ibérico braised pork and peach resin is a dish that encourages snaps, as well as their colourful range of lattes, with textures so decadent that they border on the mouthfeel of a thick milkshake. Opt for the rose latte with floating marshmallows and delight in the little marshmallow characters that are (almost) too cute to eat.

Camellia

Bursting with magnificent flowers in every hue of pink, this is a chic hangout spot with walls of pink camellia flowers greeting you at the entrance, giving it the air of a private garden. Nab a booth seat if you can, as the added privacy of the curved arches above the sofas make for a cool framing hack in portraits! Its love for pink bleeds into the creative options on the menu as well—the Camellia Fiesta afternoon tea menu features rosy-hued homages to the delicate bites enjoyed by French nobles of earlier centuries.

Jaja

You never would have guessed from its unassuming and overwhelmingly pink interior that Jaja serves a full vegetarian menu. From the moment you step out of the lift in the Hong Kong Arts Centre, you are immersed in a secret garden of pink, complete with flowers dropping from the ceiling. The restaurant furnished with materials such as velvet, feathers, and wood.

Jaja is all about the details. From cloud-like lamps and flowers embedded into tables to the slight transition from pastel pink to a more blueish tone in its décor to better complement the stunning views of the Victoria Harbour, everything adds to the overall whimsicality of the restaurant.

The food they serve is just as Instagrammable as the interior. The unique one-metre-long curry pizza is an ever-popular choice, whilst the maki platter is another beautifully arranged dish that best complements the décor of the restaurant. Such a pinkish interior naturally calls for sweeter delights, and Jaja’s Picasso cake and Flippin’ Fluffy are must-tries for those with an insatiable sweet tooth. Their afternoon tea set will satisfy both your savoury and sweet cravings, and is best topped off with one of Jaja’s crazy milkshakes—we like The Milky Way the best, which is decorated with pieces of brownie to add to your indulgence.

Dazzling Café

If you’re a frequenter of Tsim Sha Tsui’s The One, then you are sure to have spotted the adorable and decorated front of Dazzling Café during one of your visits. The cotton candy-looking café greets its patrons with a dazzling pink and gold shop front, with seating spilling out from the main store into the reception area. The most eye-catching feature has to be the special flower corner complete with a flower-packed backdrop, comfy velvet sofa, and an adorable unicorn plush toy.

Dazzling Café serves a selection of Instagrammable Taiwanese-inspired dishes, but the café is famed for their honey cube toasts filled with mountains of toppings in an overwhelming number of flavours, including ice cream and fruit, usually topped off with whipped cream and sprinkles. Their waffles also come in as many varieties. Balance out this whirlwind of sweetness with Dazzling Café’s classic Taiwanese beef noodles or braised pork rice.
