Henry

An American grill, smokehouse, and butcher concept all combined—we’re talking about Henry at Rosewood Hong Kong. The steakhouse pays homage to the time-honoured steak tradition inspired by the flavours and ingredients of America’s southernmost states.

You can walk past the butcher counter before entering the restaurant, where the meats are cured and prepared with the best charcoal grilling techniques. Signature meats include beef cuts from 44 Farms in Texas, with choices of tenderloin, rib-eye, New York strip, and more. Prices are subject to weight and served and flamed table-side. Come hungry!

Associazione Chianti

This addition to the Black Sheep Restaurants familia focuses on soulful Tuscan cuisine, hearty pasta, and an expansive collection of wines from this famed Italian region. Take your pick of meat from the butcher’s counter at the front of the restaurant—it goes straight to the kitchen and onto your table. Exclusive pours are also on the cards, as the restaurant is working directly with Italian wineries to present new and unusual wines to Hong Kong audiences. Well, time to do as the Italians do and “mangia, mangia!”

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse

A slice of New York in the heart of Hong Kong, Wolfgang’s is a classic American steakhouse. Its high-quality USDA prime beef is dry-aged for an average of 28 days in its own dry-ageing room. It comes as no surprise then that Wolfgang’s sits at the heftier end of the price scale. It’s well worth it though if you’re seeking a swanky setting in which to enjoy your meaty feast.

La Vache!

Perhaps best known for its epic brunch every first Sunday of every month, this neon-lit Parisienne steakhouse is a popular haunt among carnivores looking for a bargain cut. For an unbeatable $398 per person, diners can tuck into the much-loved La Vache! set menu of warm French baguettes; an organic salad of crisp lettuce, radish, and walnuts; and a 10-ounce USDA prime rib-eye steak with bottomless fries.

Its drinks menu includes a selection of cocktails, wines, and beers to enjoy with your feast, of which the Grand Cosmo is an absolute delight. Diners can also select a dessert from the trolley to round off their feast, including the triple chocolate cake and crème caramel.

Top Blade Steak Lab

A little off the beaten track—but totally worth the journey—is Top Blade Steak Lab, which serves American beef and bottomless truffle fries in a minimalist, concrete venue adorned with quirky neon lights. This casual eatery oozes a hipster vibe that is not commonly found in other Hong Kong steakhouses, plus it focuses mainly on the flat iron cut—the second most tender part from the shoulder, which is less fatty.

There are several steaks options to choose from, with our favourites being the herby flat iron steak with roasted garlic and fresh rosemary and the guest chef’s iron steak, which comes with potato purée and house-made red wine sauce. Both cuts are equally delicious, but just make sure you don’t fill up on those fries before they arrive!

Wooloomooloo Steakhouse

Home to one of the best views of Hong Kong and pretty mean steaks, Wooloomooloo Steakhouse in Wan Chai serves everything from a 10-ounce grass-fed Queensland filet mignon to a 55-ounce short bone-in ribeye and everything in-between.

All cuts here are wet-aged, so if you prefer the dry variety, this might not be the best choice for you, but otherwise, this is your go-to spot for top-quality beef and killer views, to enjoy before or after dinner, in the famous rooftop bar above the restaurant. If you are after live music, on the other hand, head to the Tsim Sha Tsui branch on Mody Road and lap up lively performances in the alfresco seating area alongside the waterfront.

Morton’s of Chicago

Since launching in Chicago in 1978, Morton’s has grown to over 74 restaurants including in Hong Kong, where it now sits in the Sheraton Hotel overlooking Victoria Harbour. Its stunning view is not the only draw to this mainstay venue, as it only serves the top two percent of US beef which falls under the designation of “Prime.” Prime beef here is aged for 23 to 28 days and is custom-cut to Morton’s specification to assure the highest quality. Whether you prefer a New York strip, a Manhattan cut, or a dry-aged rib-eye, you will find it here, served alongside surf and turf appetisers and sides.
