By Ching Yuen 5 May 2020

Things are shaping up to be a rather peculiar Mother’s Day this year and some among you may even be perplexed about how to go about celebrating the occasion. Though it must be said that we are grateful for our mums every single day of the year, it’s still nice to do something special to commemorate the most important lady in your life—and how best to do that than with a cake? It’s something that makes your mum feel special, it’s great for pictures, and it can also fill your stomach, all without leaving your house. Here are our top picks for the best cake delivery options around Hong Kong.

Butterfly Pâtisserie

Butterfly Pâtisserie is arguably our favourite place in Rosewood Hong Kong (besides their Instagrammable toilets, of course). For Mother’s Day, the lux bakery is offering the brand-new Butterfly Kisses ($228), a medley of chocolate-covered marshmallow and zesty fruit gelée that comes in a rainbow palette of pastels and tastes such as Champagne and Tahitian Vanilla. Full-size cakes up the indulgence, especially the Strawberry Chiffon Cake ($468) that combines fluffy vanilla chiffon with decadent Hokkaido cream and the best strawberries of the season.

We should all be treating our parents like royalty, so what better dessert to choose for Mother’s Day than the Royal ($500) from Thomas Trillion? A luscious blend of caramel and mango, the cake itself is like a piece of art. Not only does it come with fancy chocolate decorations curled on top of the cake, but there’s also a plush-like, velvet texture to the coating of the cake that gives it an extra touch of luxury. Thomas Trillion is an artisanal baker known for his extravagant cake designs, so if you’re looking for something unique and especially fancy, he’s your man.
