Picnic in the Park, Hong Kong’s largest annual live music and dance festival to support charities, celebrated another great event this year on November 2! Founded in 2005 by Witness Productions, a Discovery Bay community group, it has grown this year to feature over 20 live bands, including Helium 3 and The Vibes. 250 individual performers took part in over 60 acts on 2 stages, showcasing Discovery Bay’s home grown talents and providing 10 hours of entertainment in the festival, which also featured Y-Rock youth music talent from schools across Hong Kong.

As one of the year’s biggest outdoor family-friendly events in Hong Kong, the festival also featured a great Kids’ Zone with pedal cars, face-painters, and even an
AGS Four Winds bouncy truck that premiered this year to the delight of many families. Nearby the show were numerous market stalls, drinks booths and food from local Discovery Bay and Hong Kong businesses, keeping participants well-fed and satisfied.
Having attracted again more than 10,000 charity-minded families and individuals this year in spite of the neighbouring Krosa typhoon, the festival has raised over HK$500,000 on site during the day through voluntary donations to enter the festival. All proceeds go to the
Hong Chi Association,
Hong Kong Student Aid Society and
Kids4Kids, supporting the development of children and teenagers who are mentally handicapped or come from underprivileged families.
AGS Four Winds has supported the event since 2008 as the logistics sponsor. It dedicated a crew and truck for three days to bring equipment from Hong Kong Island to the festival site at Discovery Bay, as well as provided tents to house the sound control equipment for the two concert stages and the performers’ musical instruments last year.
