"Romantic" may not be the first word that springs to mind when you think of Hong Kong, but our beloved city does have its moments. Just take a look at this heart-warming video created by Philipino freelance graphic designer

Taken entirely on her iPhone 6, the playful montage perfectly captures the dizzying spirit of a typical Hong Kong adventure, as Dy explores the colourful streets of Sheung Wan, lets loose at the AIA Carnival, and explores the city with her closest friends. Only this story ends on the ultimate romantic high - with a surprise marriage proposal!
"My friends Leon and Katrina got engaged on this trip," Dy tells us. "We helped Leon plan the proposal just two days before we got to Hong Kong. It was actually Leon's birthday weekend, so Katrina had planned a small surprise with our help - only to find out that she was the one who was going to be surprised."
So why choose Hong Kong to pop the question? "Hong Kong is such a romantic city, not only because of the cuddle weather around this time, but because everywhere you walk, you're always surrounded by a beautiful backdrop of the city lights," Dy beams.
Well, we can't argue with that, and while this may not be the slickest video we have ever featured on Localiiz, it sure got us right in the feels! And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's nice to be reminded that love - actually -
is all around.
