Crack Me Up: Comedy Nights in Hong Kong

By Sophie Pettit 25 August 2017
They say that laughter is the best medicine, and if that's the case, then our city's comedy clubs are the perfect remedy. Luckily for us, there's a comedy night on almost every day of the week, bringing both well-known faces and amateur comics to the stage, as well as offering you the spotlight for your own five minutes of fame.

TakeOut Comedy Club

Chuckle your way through Tuesday evenings at TakeOut Comedy – the first full-time comedy club in Asia. Since opening it's doors in 2007, TakeOut has been a hub of hilarity, with well-known faces and amateur comics filling the venue with roaring laughter. The club hosts shows every Friday and Saturday evening that will have you rolling on the floor and begging for mercy, and hosts an open mic night every Tuesday for wannabe stand-ups. For just $50, you can enjoy an hour of stand-up, and take to the stage yourself – if you dare. TakeOut Comedy, 34 Elgin Street, Central Every Friday and Saturday, (shows start between 8pm - 10pm) Usually $200 - $300 Open mic night every Tuesday, (8pm - 9pm) $50 entry (free to perform for 5 minutes)

Hosted at Tamarind and several other venues around the city, the Club has been a firm favourite with Hong Kongers for over twenty years, offering barrels of laughs from top international personalities and serving a tasty pre-show buffet and happy hour drinks between 6pm and 7.30pm.
