Tracing the legacy of Hong Kong’s tenacious rebuilding and recovery since the damage of World War I to becoming the fully fledged global maritime hub it is today, the story follows key developmental eras like post-war recuperation in the late 1940s, Hong Kong’s golden days of industrialisation that followed, containerisation in the 1970s, growth in trade, and even shows a case for the future.
Drawing upon new immersive technology like VR, interactive learning stations, as well as a dazzling emotional tale told through an anthology of short films by Heiward Mak, the various strands of Hong Kong’s maritime culture are brought to life.
