Byron Bay’s beachside location provides an abundance of coastal hotels and resorts to sit back and embrace the sun. The charming region reins in visitors from all over, including city folk and overseas tourists. With its eco-friendly approaches, the region embodies the sustainability lifestyle, offering everything from alternative therapies to organic food at some of its farmhouse-like restaurants. Here are some of our favourite luxury hotels in Byron Bay to indulge in.

Raes on Wategos

An exclusive, world-renowned boutique hotel, Raes on Wategos overlooks Wategos beach, a more intimate beach to its infamous Byron main beach. Decked in Mediterranean furnishings and interiors, the hotel offers an elegant, opulent holiday in an exceptionally private space. Guests can expect all the benefits of a five-star luxury hotel, from its personalised service to its pristine beachfront location. The idyllic retreat features an in-house Moroccan-inspired spa, offering a range of holistic treatments to rejuvenate and revitalise. Named Raes Spa, the space comprises the most indulgent, high-quality spa remedies in a secluded atmosphere. There are two dining options—the Cellar Bar and the Dining Room. Both al fresco, gourmands can embrace the cool beach breeze while dining in bliss.

Atlantic Byron Bay

Run by couple Kimberly Amos and Stephen Eakin, Atlantic Byron Bay is a refurbished boutique hotel converted from a collection of cottages. There are only four guesthouses at this sandy getaway, offering perfect seclusion in a luxury space. The beach and cafés are only footsteps away from its location, surrounded by swaying palm trees and the crisp ocean breeze. Reminiscent of surf shack vibes, the hotel is updated with local art adorning the walls and premium amenities in the rooms. Wake up to breakfast at the gourmet restaurant for a taste of the finer things in life.

Set only footsteps away from the beach, the hotel features 91 suites (being an all-suite property), a multi-award-winning day spa, and an exotic restaurant overlooking the rainforest. All suites include a picturesque deep soak bathtub, a gallery kitchen with a dining table for four, an L-shaped lounge, a California King bed, an LED TV with Foxtel and Movielink, and two verandahs in all rooms. There are three suites to choose from—the Standard Suite, the Superior Suite, and the Deluxe Spa Suite.
