Unspoiled, beautiful Bali offers some of the most spectacular locations for sunset-watching, whether it be a sea temple or a beach hideout. Picture-perfect views are difficult to capture on film and can only really be treasured when seen in person. Some places showcase magical sea views, whilst others capture the exotic lush jungle—the choice is yours. Here are the best places to catch the most spectacular sunsets in Bali, Indonesia.
Catch ocean views from Tegal Wangi Beach, where the sunset reflects on the sparkling waters. You can watch the sun go down from the towering cliff, or directly from the white sands—whichever you please. Located just a few kilometres north of Rock Bar, the hidden beach is accessible by going down a rocky staircase towards the beach. Eat seafood whilst catching the sunset at Jimbaran Bay—a place famed for its fresh catches. The pristine bay makes a calming ambience, where the sun gently descends. There’s plenty to see and do, before or after the sunset, including the restaurants and bars nearby.
Watch the sunset from a cultural heritage spot, which plays a significant part in Bali’s identity. Uluwatu Temple is a cliffside sea temple, showcasing the time-honoured religious customs and philosophies of the region’s culture. Being a natural site, the temple boasts unspoiled views of the Indian Ocean from the towering cliffs. Wait for sundown, where the sky radiates with oozing colour, burning hues of crimson to deep blue. There’s even an occasional traditional performance from the cultural dancers at the temple.
Seminyak’s Ku De Ta is a beach club haven, offering an upscale bar scene to catch the sunset. The luxe venue is perched in front of the beach and is famous for its summer party scene. Every evening, however, one can come by and watch the timeless sunset, whilst soaking in the cool vibes of the area, and its crowd.
