Localiiz Property Picks: Pads with a Pool

By Jenny Leung 1 April 2017
Hong Kong's not a cold city. I know that, you know that. You know what's great when it's really hot, and you feel like the city is trying to suffocate you with its oppressive humidity? A pool! You would think that having your own swimming pool is something that would be reserved for the super rich, and while there's plenty of options for the 1 per cent top earners, normal plebs like you and me can have a home with a pool too. So as such, here's a selection of pads on the market now with a pool - whether it be private or shared, there's water that you can splash about it.

Marina Cove, Sai Kung

  • $73,000/pm
  • 1,920 sq ft
  • Semi-detached house, private swimming pool, garden, 2 bedrooms (1 en-suite), club house access, 2 car parks
Okay, so 73 grand is hardly chump change, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not terrible, and the new decoration, newly built pool, and all-round loveliness on display make it worthwhile. Contact: Sunshine Property

Pik Uk Tsuen Road, Clearwater Bay

  • $95,000/pm
  • 2,200 sq ft
  • Full sea view, 5 bedrooms (2 en-suite), private swimming pool, 2 car parks
Clearwater Bay is undoubtedly one of the nicest areas of the city to live in, and this property takes full advantage of the incredible vistas, something that can be enjoyed from your own pool! Contact: Sunshine Property

Grand Bowen, Mid Levels East

  • $58,000/pm
  • 1,537 sq ft
  • 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, access to gym and pool
Aside from being home to high-end residential developments, Mid Levels also houses some of Hong Kong’s international schools such as Island School, Carmel School, and Canadian International School. For commuters, this area sits just above Admiralty and Wanchai, making it an ideal location for families - who love to swim. Contact: Spacious

Palm Drive, Redhill Peninsula

  • $170,000
  • 3,055 sq ft
  • 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, amazing views, access to some ridiculously good facilities (look at the pool, it's mental)
  • You get to say you live here
  • Makes you better than everyone else (kidding, we're not really that shallow)
For maybe the one or two people reading this that can comfortable afford to pay $170,000 in rent every month. You probably don't need me to tell you how to spend your money, I use plastic cutlery at home. But, if I had $170,000 set aside every month for rent, I would live here. Contact: Habitat

One Wanchai, Wan Chai

  • $23,000
  • 614 sq ft
  • 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
  • Access to club house and swimming pool
Every other property on the list arguably falls into the category of 'dream home'. This, on the other hand, is very much attainable while still providing a really amazing pool and facilities. Contact: Foursquare

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, Jenny grew up with the best of both worlds. She loves just about anything to do with music and doesn’t shy away from belting out a tune or two when it comes to karaoke. If she’s not out and about exploring the city and practising her photography skills, she’s probably tucked up in bed with a book or glued to her laptop doing her online shopping.
