Many Hong Kongers have a love/hate relationship with the Kowloon Walled City, but there's no denying its huge role in our city's history. Many people feel a strong sense of nostalgia for the winding alleys that so many called home. Even those unfamiliar with it first hand are intrigued by the story of the
lawless labyrinth, which will remain a major oddity in the world of architecture and city planning.
The site of the once standing city is now commemorated by the
Kowloon Walled City Park, but many Hong Kongers have complained that it does little to reflect the true nature of what it once was.
Thankfully, previous residents of the Kowloon Walled City can experience a huge wave of deja vu if they can make it to a game warehouse in Kawasaki, Japan. Tokyo-based photographer
Lee Chapman paid a visit, and snapped these wonderful photographs at the Kawasaki Warehouse. Click through to see them all!
