Calling all beer lovers! Get ready for a month of stein-raising as you revel in the Bavarian festivities of Oktoberfest this October. On this joyous occasion, restaurants and pubs around town are putting on themed celebrations, complete with live music, games, delicious food, and most importantly, beer! Tong Chong Street Market Beer Festival

The highly anticipated Tong Chong Street Market Beer Festival invites beer enthusiasts on a tasting journey. Over the course of a three-day event, visitors can learn more about local craft brewers—including the innovative start-up Breer—and participate in four-hour free-flow tastings, meaning you can sample as many pints as you want across different vendors!

It would not be Oktoberfest without food, and the beer festival is gathering a number of outlets from across the city to offer guests a wide variety of beer-pairing snacks. Highlights include the El Güeytaco from Latin Bites, mini grilled rice with chicken rendang from MedanLang, and a Wagyu burger from Lobster Boss. Frites 

Get ready for a night of beer frenzy at Frites! Patrons can expect a series of mouth-watering fare and plenty of steins to go ‘round! Take part in stein-holding competitions and yodelling showdowns for a chance to win fabulous prizes before settling down with a pint and some freshly baked twisted dough from the pretzel tower. Frites’ Oktoberfest celebrations are taking place at its Central and Causeway Bay locations. Learn more about the events here.

Le Meridien Oktoberfest Outdoor Fiesta

Enjoy a laid-back, poolside celebration this Oktoberfest at Le Méridien! The hotel’s celebration takes place around its iconic pool and features delicious German delicacies alongside ice-cold beer. Highlights of the buffet-style feast include Schwarzwälder Schinken (Black Forest ham served with German pickles and mustard), smoked pork loin ham, Zungenwurst (blood sausage with pickled pig tongues), a selection of barbecued meats, and live carving stations. Don’t forget to save room for the Heidelbeerkuchen German blueberry cake. Guests can indulge in a range of beer games to the sound of uplifting live music. Learn more about the event here.

Returning for the third year in a row, BaseHall’s Oktoberfest is set to be bigger and bolder than ever! For one night only, visitors will arrive to find the chic food hall at Jardine’s House transformed into a lively Bavarian beer tent, complete with mouth-watering grub, a beer-tapping ceremony, stein-holding competitions, and live music. Ink is hosting an Oktoberfest pop-up evening filled with celebration, live music, delicious German grub, and—of course—beer. Highlights of the menu include fresh pretzels served with beer cheese sauce, Reiberdatschi—potato pancakes—topped with smoked salmon, sour cream, and apple sauce, and currywurst fries topped with pulled pork, cheese, and curried ketchup. With the celebration featuring beloved craft beers such as the Vienna Amber Lager and the King in Yellow Helles, patrons can wash down their food with a pint or two at Ink while indulging in the festive fervour. Heimat and CulinArt 1862

For a more toned-down Oktoberfest celebration, you can check out this special four-hands dinner! Chefs Peter Find of Heimat and Stanley Wong of CulinArt 1862 are collaborating to present a curated menu that best represents the spirit of Oktoberfest. Highlights of the menu include a spread of starters, smoked salmon with potato pancake and pepper schmand, roast suckling pig with sauerkraut, wild boar ragout with venison loin, and pancakes with pear compote and vanilla ice cream.
