UPDATE: To all our valued readers, in light of the recent comments we have received and read relating to this news story, we would like to sincerely apologise for the upset this may have caused and reassure you that our policy is simply to inform readers of the events on offer around Hong Kong. In no way, whatsoever, would we ever intentionally promote animal abuse or cruelty, and on this occassion our intention was merely to inform readers of the opportunity to learn about animals from the interactive workshops and tours, and from the veterinary team at the park. We truly appreciate your feedback and concerns and take this very seriously. This is your city and your opinions are extremely important to us and we will certainly take this into account moving forward.

The Ocean Park Animal Discovery Fest returns this 19 April to 1 May 2019, inviting kids and adults to 'Meet the Walrus'. The brand new experience programme will allow guests to observe these large-sized marine mammals with prominent tusks up close, touch and feed them, and even have the chance to take a snap together. A total of 13 interactive animal workshops and backstage explorer tours will also be on offer, and for the first time ever, Ocean Park’s Veterinary Centre will be open to the public to allow guests to better understand the wide array of animal ambassadors at the Park and the work of the Park’s veterinary team. Once inside this world-class treatment and clinical facilities, professional veterinary and laboratory staff will share some of their experiences working on a diverse range of animals. As a bonus, from now until 1 May 2019, Hong Kong Identity Cards holders can redeem an on-day complimentary child admission ticket for one accompanying child aged 3 to 11 with their valid adult admission ticket at the Park’s Main Entrance. So don’t miss your chance to get up close with nature this spring.
