MTR Corporation Offers Half Price Fares this Weekend to Say Sorry

By Sarah Moran 30 October 2018

Adults travelling by train on November 3 and 4 can enjoy 50 percent off journeys, while the elderly, children, and students can enjoy single trips for only $1, regardless of how far they venture. While there are disputes over whether or not this gesture is adequate enough to compensate the public for the inconvenience caused by the blip two weeks ago, and might, in fact, cause even more chaos on the lines this weekend, at least it gives us all an excuse to venture further afield and save a buck or two. Born and raised in Hong Kong to expat parents, Sarah grew up as your typical third-culture kid, caught between two worlds. As someone who is nosy (or just curious) and loves the written word, there was never any other career that appealed to her as much as journalism. When she’s not busy on her mission to find the line between not enough coffee and too much coffee, you can find her exploring the city or getting stuck in a good book.
