By Localiiz 10 March 2021

Event Information

START DATE 27 Mar 2021
END DATE 11 Apr 2021

In alliance with the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Coucher Foundation is organising a series of educational and exhilarating events geared towards fostering an interest in science amongst the future generation. The event will take place online, available to the public between 27 March to 11 April, aiming to improve science literacy and bridging the gap between world-renowned scientists and young enthusiasts through a wide range of school and public programme. Interested parties will have the opportunity to experience broadcasted live shows, interactive explorations, hands-on demonstrations, outdoor tours, and fascinating talks.

This year, the Royal Institution of Great Britain, an independent charity that has brought science to the masses for over 200 years, will take part in hosting. Participants can follow the lead of scientists, carrying out the online step by step demonstrations from the comfort of their own homes. Home-grown scientists who are part of the Croucher Scholars group will also be sharing some exciting experiments. Suitable for parents and little scientists aged four or above, participants are invited to explore the wonders of science in everyday life.

Try out a handy trick that involves flying cups and falling eggs with Emmy award-winning host and STEM author Steve Spangler, be awed by a silent film showcasing The Incredible Tale of Robot Boy, and help Dr Ho Yu Au-Yeung collect the tools to uncover the secrets of light and colour in a 360-degree virtual tour ”Glowing in the Dark” demonstration—there‘s so much to discover!

All events are free of charge and available for registration via the event website.
