The pandemic has changed our lives drastically and put everything on pause. So why not take the opportunity to go back to basics with nature and reconnect with our community, our environment, and ourselves? For three consecutive weekends from 18 June to 4 July, Citygate Outlets will debut its first-ever weekend outdoor market, “The Getaway Market—In Love with Nature.”
In collaboration with over 40 local artisans, social enterprises and NGOs, “The Getaway Market” presents a wide array of local merchandises, including handicraft accessories, art, and organic delights. Also here to impress are gigantic wooden art installations and an exciting line-up of live performances and dining rewards against Lantau’s beautiful flora and fauna as a backdrop!
In tandem with the outdoor market, Citygate Outlets has also partnered with Swire Trust to take part in its TrustTomorrow community project “Building Community, Building Tung Chung”. It will offer 200 free spots to the underprivileged and ethnic minorities in the district to partake in its “Grow Green Workshops,” where participants can relish the joy of creating handicrafts together.
Covering the hottest new eats, the best places to play, offbeat takes on local culture, and so much more, Localiiz is every Hongkonger’s destination for how to live a well-rounded life in our vibrant city. Why the strange spelling? Well, Localiiz is designed to be your “local eyes”—and for that, you need two i’s.
