In honour of the legacy of Hong Kong martial arts superstar Bruce Lee and the forty-ninth year of his passing, Prizm Group and Bruce Lee Club are teaming up to recreate Lee’s old home with VR technology and co-host an exhibition featuring several collectables. Organisers hope that the exhibition will introduce the Hong Kong legend to the next generation through the use of Web 3.0 technology.
The original site of Lee’s old mansion, the Crane’s Nest on 41 Cumberland Road, was demolished in 2019. Three years later, three students from the Hong Kong Vocational Education (Sha Tin) reproduced the old abode in the Metaverse, allowing fans to “enter” and experience the superstar’s home in a series of interactions.
In addition to a recreation of the Crane’s Nest, there are also exhibits of multiple Bruce Lee collectables including a pendant that Lee designed to commemorate Enter the Dragon as well as an installation that mimics a famous scene in the movie.
Covering the hottest new eats, the best places to play, offbeat takes on local culture, and so much more, Localiiz is every Hongkonger’s destination for how to live a well-rounded life in our vibrant city. Why the strange spelling? Well, Localiiz is designed to be your “local eyes”—and for that, you need two i’s.
