Perrotin Presents: Light - Mirror by Julio Le Parc

By Jenny Leung 29 March 2019

Event Information

START DATE 25 Mar 2019
END DATE 11 May 2019
17/F, 50 Connaught Road Central, Central
Welcoming the 90-year-old pioneer in opt art and kinetic art, Julio Le Parc, to our shores, Perrotin Hong Kong presents Light - Mirror, the artist’s first exhibition not just in Hong Kong, but in the whole of Asia. Featuring two site-specific installations, as well as recent mobiles and paintings, the artist’s mesmerising collection of artwork revolves around the repetition of basic geometric forms by involving artificial lights, mechanical movements, and his recurrent use of mirrors. Le Parc was awarded the International Grand Prize for Painting at the 33rd Venice Biennale back in 1966, so this is a rare chance to see the master at work.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, Jenny grew up with the best of both worlds. She loves just about anything to do with music and doesn’t shy away from belting out a tune or two when it comes to karaoke. If she’s not out and about exploring the city and practising her photography skills, she’s probably tucked up in bed with a book or glued to her laptop doing her online shopping.
