Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2019

By digital butter 16 September 2019

Event Information

START DATE 01 Nov 2019
END DATE 10 Nov 2019
The 19th edition of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival will be held over ten days in autumn, featuring established and emerging writers from around the world, in a programme that includes discussions, lunches and gala dinners with authors, workshops, lectures, debates, book signings, and readings. This year, HKILF will focus on the themes of identity, migration and dystopia across a wide range of mediums. We are particularly excited to learn that Markus Zusak, author of the international bestseller The Book Thief, will be in attendance. Other writers to highlight include Pico Iyer, Qiufan Chen, John Boyne, Sinéad Gleeson, Jennifer 8. Lee, Miriam Lancewood and many more celebrated names. Engage with the literati on the timely topics of LGBTQ+ representation, mass weapons of distraction, and the importance of a free press. Even if you can't make the Festival, check out their reading list and hit up a bookstore, pronto. Say hi to the Localiiz team if you spot us there!
