Gagosian is excited to present a series of new paintings by Mehdi Ghadyanloo in the Iranian artist’s first solo exhibition in Asia. Ghadyanloo’s paintings are meticulous compositions of geometry, colour, and chiaroscuro. The subjects of his paintings are familiar yet mysterious— ordinary slides, tunnels, and ladders are encased in tight chambers, illuminated from above by skylights. The Ghadyanloo paintings beautify the urban environment in our age of industrialisation and technology, and in turn, promote harmony amongst its inhabitants.
