Eaton HK presents: Women’s Festival 2021

Eaton HK, Sally Coco, and Reel Women Hong Kong are teaming up to present the fourth edition of the Women’s Festival, under the theme of “A Superheroine’s Preparation Guide For A World To Come.” Taking place over two weekends, 21 to 22 and 28 to 29 August, this year’s Women’s Festival has been conceptualized around the past ‘covid year’ and other challenges. Through various workshops, discussion panels, parties, and fun-filled activities, the festival invites participants to join in conversations around the biases that inform people’s everyday life and reinvent what the future could look like. 

An alternative “Letter writing workshop,” supported by the Karen Leung Foundation, will encourage participants to pen handwritten letters as an act of self-care, whether they are letters of love, or letters of closure and forgiveness. “Skinship: A workshop on vulnerability and human connection” addresses the emotional and psychological impact of isolation many have experienced over the past year, exploring the need for touch and physical connection.

Challenge your thinking around gender awareness at the “Re-reading mythologies from a feminist perspective” and “Being Mortal: how to live a good life until the end” panel discussion; or join in the “Feminist leadership workshop: a transformative journey for change” to learn more about alternative feminist leadership.

Fun-filled activations include “Rainbow Speed Dating,” A night with female mixologists at Terrible Baby, and “The Ultimate Bedroom Party”—a pillow fight slumber party complete with DJ and customized cocktails!
