The current climate is crazy, but we must look to the future and move forward. And with that in mind, Shi Fu Miz Festival has announced its return to Hong Kong this October for its sixth iteration. On October 30 — November 1, the beloved boutique festival will once again settle its sound system on Cheung Chau, a small island just 30 minutes from the mainland by ferry. There, near the island’s idyllic golden sand beaches, three stages will unfold in the grasses of Sai Yuen Farm. This year, with the implementation of a new pillars program, a greater focus will be placed on lifestyle, ecology, sustainability, well being, family and scenography.
Since its inception in 2016, the festival has rapidly grown and now welcomes an intimate audience of 2,000. After seeing first hand the demand for intelligent electronic music, a lack of platforms to showcase these kinds of artists, and a desire to grow the regional music scene, since 2019 Shi Mu Fiz has evolved into a biannual event. Last year, Shi Fu Miz hosted a one-day Boiler Room takeover that was broadcasted to an audience of two million. Today, the festival has now become synonymous with eclectic and forward-thinking artists who push the boundaries of electronic music in a mystical setting that evokes feelings of inclusivity and freedom.
Like you, we also have the global pandemic on our minds. But we also feel that the world will return to its axis soon and we must look to the future. While no one has a crystal ball and can tell us when that will be, we can only be hopeful. Rest assured, if it's deemed unsafe to move forward with the event, full refunds will be issued.
