Taking place from 20 October to 20 November KC100 Art Space in Kwai Chung, “Anna Salenko—A Journey from Italy to Hong Kong” presents a collection of paintings by artist Anna Salenko, under the themes of Italy and modern Hong Kong. In addition to the exhibition, a combination of art and photography will be presented in unique print works. The opening event will also feature a live painting session and various workshops to share the artist's techniques.

Italy, fashion, the aesthetics of modern Europe, and a palette knife. This is how Anna Salenko began her acquaintance with art. It happened in Milan, where Anna came to receive higher education after leaving school. This sunny and brilliant country runs like a thin thread through all the artist’s work. After Italy, Anna returned to Asia. Native land, mountains, and the sea have always been her sources of inspiration. Hong Kong turned out to be the perfect city. It combines the features of Europe and Asia, which the artist particularly likes. Her connection with Italy is still warm and close, as she is currently studying at the Marconi Roma Institute.

Recently, the artist discovered the opportunity to work on the theme of Italy, a country that she often remembers fondly. This is how the idea came about to create this exhibition. Italy in Anna Salenko’s paintings is sunny and kind; the way it really is.
