Looking for your next good read? Struggling to get your kids to out down the iPad and pick up a book? Then you might find what you're looking for at the Books for Love @ $10 charity book sale, organised by Swire Properties’ Community Ambassador Programme and The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA).
Choose from over 50,000 new and used books in both
English and
Chinese, and get the kids involved in a series of free-of-charge interactive storytelling workshops conducted by non-profit organisations Shakespeare4All Hong Kong and BGCA senior social workers. A special highlight on the last day of the event will be the semi-finals of the “Children Storytelling Competition 2015”, co-organised by BGCA and Radio Television Hong Kong.
Held each year, Books for Love aims to promote reading in a green and affordable way whilst contributing to a meaningful cause, with all proceeds going to BGCA to support its “Growing Partner
2 – Child Development Fund”, which helps children from low-income families learn to overcome adversity and build self-confidence. Visitors who present a senior citizen card or student card on the last two days of the event will be offered a buy-one-get-one-free discount.
