If you could use a retreat in paradise next month, look no further than Yoga For Life’s Intoxicating Detox. The mobile yoga practice, run by Mindy Tagliente, is relocating to a serene coconut plantation in the Philippines between the 14th and 19th of May for six days of spa treatments, home-grown organic food and, of course, yoga classes.
The Farm is a wellness and holistic healing centre just an hour outside of Manila, with a sulu terrace, straw huts and multiple swimming pools set amid a beautiful coconut plantation. Yoga For Life guests will be treated to five-course organic vegan meals and a whole host of wellness treatments and activities during their stay.
Speaking exclusively to Localiiz, Mindy told us how she stumbled across such a hidden gem. “I went to The Farm myself when it first opened as a wellness centre around 10 years ago after ordering coconut oil from them for a long time. One of the reasons I want to go back is to get back in shape after the third baby. I still have a couple of kilos to shake, so I decided to set up the retreat for me as much as anyone.”
Mindy, who came to Hong Kong from the UK 16 years ago with her work as a TV presenter and children’s entertainer, has been running Yoga For Life since 2007, offering in-house and in-office yoga classes to busy professionals.
“I do miss the entertaining but I don’t have as much energy as I did in my 20s, so I decided to take a backseat from the corporate stuff and concentrate on yoga and being a mum,” said Mindy. “I also set up a charity, Link Kenya, so everyone who gets involved with Yoga For Life is helping bring education to orphans in Kenya.”
During the Intoxicating Detox, Mindy will be running meditation sessions as well as power Yang Yoga classes in the morning and chilled Ying Yoga classes in the evening, with guests free to enjoy themselves around The Farm in the afternoons.
