All too quickly the summer months have flown by, and somehow we’re in September, planning Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, and gearing up for a mooncake overload. Of course, the fun doesn’t stop when we wave goodbye to August in the 852, as we look forward to an eclectic line up of events this weekend. From Spartan workouts to Shakespearean theatre, and ice cream block parties garden cinemas, there’s plenty for everyone to sink their teeth into.

The Great Relay

Harking back to school sports day, The Great Relay is a feel-good, bonding event with teams of between 2 and 6 runners buddying up to tackle lengthy 50km and 100km courses. While team mates pass on the baton at 5.5km intervals, supporters can make the most of delicious food stalls and yoga sessions, and a stack of Gweilo Beer in the picturesque setting of Aberdeen Country Park. Registration closes on September 7, so gather your team mates sharpish!

Salomon X-Trail Series 2016

Mid-Autumn Festival Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance

Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance

The city is going mooncake mad, which can only mean one thing – it’s Mid-Autmn Festival time. At the centre of Hong Kong’s traditional celebrations, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance will illuminate the streets of Causeway Bay over the course of three days. With drums, smoke, and a 67-metre long flaming dragon, it’s quite a sight to behold.
