Think Irish dance is just reserved for the Irish? Think again! See talent from across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the US battle it out right here in Hong Kong in the world’s hottest Irish dance-off.
With more than 80 million people on the planet claiming to have Irish heritage, it’s no wonder the country’s original form of dance is so popular across continents, even outside of Irish communities. Hong Kong is no different, but if you haven’t yet heard about the movement, now is your chance to find out more.
The Sai Kung-based O’Connor-Barton Irish Dance School will be hosting the second annual International Premierships of Irish Dance at Auberge Discovery Bay, on April 26th & 27th. In association with An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha, the world’s largest and longest running Irish Dance organisation, different age groups have been invited to compete for the Hong Kong title, in what is set to be a foot stomping, high kicking extravaganza.
