The Best Bargain Homeware Stores in Hong Kong

Decking out your entire apartment can feel like a real chore, especially when you’re on a tight budget, living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. But thankfully, there are some excellent low-cost stores that are packed with all the cooking utensils, electrical appliances, and soft furnishings you need to make yourself feel right at home – without breaking the bank. Here are some of our favourites. Happy homemaking.

IKEA

An obvious choice we know, but the truth is you’ll be hard pressed to find a single apartment in Hong Kong that doesn’t feature at least one piece of IKEA furniture. This haven of homeware goodies offers pretty much everything you could possibly need to make your flat a cosy home, conveniently arranged by room. From beds, wardrobes, and sofas, to lighting, fixtures, and even children’s toys, you might be coming out with more than you bargained for. And then, of course, there are those devilishly tasty meatballs in the café to munch on afterwards. Our advice would be to make a strict shopping list and stick to it.
