What’s on the Menu?

From Japanese to French, Cantonese to Italian, there’s a style of cuisine to suit every palette. Guests can enjoy creating their own dream tasting menu from a selection of more than 50 dishes starting from just $50. And with 10 Michelin star venues Amber, Tosca, Zuma, and visiting Kei Restaurant (all the way from Paris) on the menu, you know it’s going to be good!

The fun doesn’t stop there though, as they will also have the chance to indulge in a spot of shopping from more than 60 artisan producers, enjoy a glass or two at one of several pop-up bars, soak in interactive masterclasses and live demonstrations from top chefs, and lap up live music throughout the festival.

All this delicious food and entertainment promises to create the perfect buzzing atmosphere for food loving Hong Kongers.

Back By Popular Demand

Some of the most popular dishes from the inaugural Taste of Hong Kong are making a comeback due to hot demand, including Tin Lung Heen’s succulent Barbequed Iberian Pork (enjoyed by over 2,000 visitors in 2016), Duddell’s Pan Fried M9 Australian Wagyu with wasabi soy sauce (an impressive 300kgs of was consumed last year), and Yardbird’s moreish Sweetcorn Tempura (which sold over 3,500 pieces at Taste 2016).

Popular eateries Serge et Le Phoque and RONIN will also be returning to the festival, adding to the line-up of the city’s best foodie hot spots including Arcane, Café Gray Deluxe, CHINO, Duddell’s, Kaum at Potato Head, Mercato, Okra, Rhoda, Tin Lung Heen, Tosca, and Yardbird.

What’s New this Year?

Themes and trends on the 2017 menu include a passion for seafood and Hong Kong’s romance and experimentation with black truffle – all revealing the lengths that chefs go to for quality produce and their unique approaches to sourcing ingredients. Each chef has crafted dishes that they believe diners would relish, whether they are using ingredients new or rare in the market, or more of what they love. And we hear the menu is “like a love letter to foodies of this vibrant city.”

Festival-goers will be able to try dishes with unique ingredients such as the Brittany Diver Scallop, XO emulsion, amalfi lemon’ by Café Gray Deluxe, ‘Hot Hentai Quail Tatsuta – 1/2 marinated quail with menegi and crystal sauce’ by Okra, and ‘Freshly shucked ‘ebisu’ winter oyster with plum/beetroot granite & black pepper’ by Amber. Icon dishes such as ‘Uni Truffle Spicy Lobster Tostada’ by CHINO, ‘Baked Lobster with Garlic and Cheese’ by Duddell’s, ‘Gnocchi with black truffle and Iberico ham’ by Kei Restaurant are available for the ultimate gourmand.

And let’s not forget the icing on the cake – the VIP Lounge by JIA Group, where visitors can relax with a cocktail crafted by top mixologists Marek Vojcarcik of Duddell’s, Ryan Nightingale of Ham & Sherry, Back Bar, and James Barker of 208 Duecento Otto. Cheers to that!
