Without using any kind of moulds, Johnson creates every single piece by hand, focusing on the minor and intricate details. While he occasionally makes usable crockery, most of his work is about expressing ideas and concepts, and has nothing to do with practicality.

Johnson says his magical pieces are all inspired by his life. “My personal experiences, including all the ups and downs, have the strongest impact on my art. Sometimes, the injustice and unfair events that happen in the society also draw my attention. Everything that I experience resides in me and comes up in my mind naturally when I am looking for inspiration”, he tells Localiiz.

Currently working on his ‘Kiss’ series, Johnson has plans to exhibit his work again soon. Exact dates still have not been announced, but we’ll be sure to keep our Localiiz eye out and keep you posted!
