VIDEO: Droning Is Back!

By Sophie Pettit 27 October 2015
It's been a while since we have featured a drone video of Hong Kong, but this latest one, simply named Hong Kong Droning, is definitely worthy of a mention. Created by Javier Salgado during his recent visit to the city, the clip takes a more laid-back approach to the popular style of video making which often show sped up footage of our city from above. Salgado instead takes us on a more leisurely flight over Hong Kong through a series of mostly real-time shots taken on his DJI Phantom 3 Professional. Featuring the dazzling iconic skyline, bustling Victoria Harbour, the dense metropolis, and the striking Aqua Luna, the video captures everything we love about our vibrant city - there is even a junk boat party thrown in too! “I've always enjoyed photography and used to shoot with a reflex camera. However, since the launch of professional, yet affordable, drones (or quadrocopters), I've discovered a whole new way of capturing the world from a totally different perspective," Salgado tells us. "So far, I am taking my flying machine in every trip I go but always flying safely and complying with the local regulations. A drone is not a toy and a responsible usage is needed from anybody who wants to initiate in aerial photography." Well we certainly feel pretty relaxed after watching! Hong Kong droning
