September 19th 2013
Dragon Dash - Hong Kong’s fastest-growing adventure race - is back, set to take over the city in the name of charity on Saturday September 28th. Conceived in 2010 by a group of friends, the urban challenge sends intrepid teams in search of an ever-elusive dragon, taking them on a fun and varied journey through some of the city’s rich and diverse culture.
The concept is simple; at the stroke of midday, mixed teams of 4-5 will set off from the start location (this year at the stunning Tamar Park, Admiralty) in search of the dragon. Using the super-slick Dragon Dash smartphone app, competitors will be guided to obscure and potentially unknown parts of the city to complete quirky challenges, which will ultimately reveal the location of the hidden dragon and the awesome ‘Dash Bash’ after-party. Where will you end up? Only the dragon knows!
In 2012, 300 young professionals took part in the inaugural event, helping to raise over HK$120,000 for Cebu-based children’s charity Anakatira. This year's Dragon Dash promises to be even bigger and better, with fantastic prizes up for grabs, including a weekend in Bangkok courtesy of Hotel G, spa vouchers from Fast Beauty and free sessions at Hong Kong’s leading indoor cycling studio Torq.
Dragon Dash 2013 will be giving all proceeds to
Feeding Hong Kong, a local charity fighting hunger and working to reducing the amount of food sent to landfill.
Tickets are available from the Dragon Dash website, so sign up your friends (each team must have at least one female and one male), blitz the course, discover new places, help a local charity - and most of all, have an absolute blast.
