We might not have a thick blanket of the white stuff, but Hong Kong is definitely spreading festive cheer with its range of glamorous Christmas trees on displays this year. If you haven't managed to check them out yet, take a look at our roundup of the top five, courtesy of lifestyle blogger and evergreen lover, Scarlett Whittell. Never a city to do things by halves, we’ve got dancing teddy bears, 3D orca whales, and super-size snowflakes on display this year. Now, call me old-fashioned, but I’m still firmly wedded to the humble Christmas tree. As a result, I’ve been skipping around in my snowman jumper in search of Hong Kong’s biggest, brightest, and most beautiful trees. If Christmas spirit isn’t pumping through your veins already, it sure will be by the time you’ve seen these beauties. Enjoy!

1. The Towering Tree

1 The Tallest Tree The Landmark has firmly established its status as one of the most hard-core decoration destinations in Hong Kong. Nestled behind this year’s flying bears and turning cogs, the Landmark’s Christmas tree is a towering specimen with lights and baubles galore. The Landmark, 15 Queen’s Road Central, Central

2. The Designer Tree

2 The Designer Tree Spying a designer bag underneath my tree come Christmas Day would probably result in shrieking and weeping, swiftly followed by a long period of silence as I cradle my new best friend. You can imagine, then, the dangerous levels of excitement I was experiencing when gazing at the tree in the lobby of The Peninsula hotel. If there’s a sure fire way to ensure your greenery is a cut above the rest, tucking a whole array of designer gifts around the base ought to do the trick! The Peninsula Hotel, Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

3. The (S)elfie Tree

3 The Selfie Tree In honour of the selfie stick’s rise to fame, Fashion Walk has ditched the tinsel and opted for interactive screens on their tree. Simply take a selfie with your friends, a Santa hat, or perhaps a passing reindeer, and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #exTREEvaganza to see your face in shining lights. Fashion Walk, Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay

4. The Traditional Tree

4 The Traditional Tree If the selfie stick hasn’t stolen your heart, don’t panic. The Island Shangri-La hotel has stuck to the traditional path with its festive offering. A big glistening star, baubles-a-plenty, and a couple of reindeer to coo over – what’s not to love? Plus, you can ensure 2016 gets off to a flying start by adding a wish to the Shangri La wish wall! Island Shangri-la, Pacific Place, Supreme Court Road, Admiralty

5. The Starry Tree

5 The Starry Tree Why stop with a single star at the top of the tree, hey? In celebration of The Little Prince’s arrival in Hong Kong cinemas this Christmas Eve, Pacific Place has gone star-crazy. With an abundance of red roses around the base, and an interactive Little Prince village to wander through, this tree is sure to keep the whole family entertained. Magic! Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty Happy tree hunting!
