Fantasy and daydreams may not be the first words that spring to mind when you think of rush hour in Hong Kong, but Button has a gift for capturing individuals in isolated moments of contemplation among the hustle and bustle. The perfect way to wind down for the weekend, this much-anticipated show is not to be missed.

Enjoy a day full of wellness and positivity as the city's largest free yoga and wellness festival returns to the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. With an action-packed schedule of eight yoga classes (for various levels), a marketplace with clothes, delicious food, and drink, and a new Meditation Dome, you are sure to find bliss in the urban jungle. Don't miss the live body painting, music, and goodie bags for all festival goers. Entry is free, but online registration is required in order to guarantee your entry.

What better excuse to eat, drink, and dance the night away than to raise much-needed funds for the the Hong Kong Sea School, a school for disadvantaged youths? The Stormy Dragons invite you to attend their annual charity ball at the Hong Kong Sea School, where they will transform their gym into a swanky ballroom. All money raised will go towards funding watersport activities for the underprivileged boys that board at the school. With a live auction giving away luxury villa stays in Thailand and Bali, spa vouchers, and swanky dinners in town, as well as free flow wine, spirits, and food by the Butchers Club, this is a great opportunity to glitz up and mingle with fellow paddlers from across Hong Kong.

Add a splash of colour to your weekend and head to this vibrant community fair, where an explosion of dance, music, and cultural goodies hit the street. Organised by the Mong Kok Kai Fong Association, the annual event pays homage to Hung Shing Temple, the God of the Sea, for bringing luck to the people of Tai Kok Tsui. Festival highlights include the Temple Fair Grand Parade, the Dragon Lion Dance Team, Fashion Show, Magic Show and, of course, the 500-foot Luminous Night Dragon Dance Performance. If you are looking for a culture fix this weekend, this is your spot.

In celebration of our mamas, The Butcher's Club is bringing back it's monthly Long Lunch and Southside Market. Stalls will be popping up all around the rooftop serving a special Mother's Day buffet, including an afternoon tea stall, seafood grill, carvery, and dessert station. There will also be a Nail Salon tent set up, so you can treat your mama to a manicure, but be sure to book ahead to get your slot. The fun doesn't stop there, as a DIY cupcake decorating area will give mums the chance to get creative and pick up some edible treats to take home too. A face painter will be on hand to keep the little ones entertained, while live music will keep your toes tapping all day long.

The Hong Kong and Macau Irish Festival arrives on our doorstep this month, bringing a series of exciting events to the city. Kick off the action with live music as the International Concert Orchestra of Hong Kong (ICOHK) presents classical and Irish melodies in the beautiful Maritime Museum. An outstanding cast of talented musicians from 12 secondary schools in Hong Kong, led by conductors Debra Jones and Canice Gleeson, will take you on a musical journey through a colourful soundscape.

Step into Shakespeare's world of drama, bloodshed, and hilarity, courtesy of the Royal Shakespeare Company. As part of Hong Kong Arts Festival, and to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the playwright's death, the globally renowned theatre company will whisk you back to 15th century England with their performances of Henry IV, Part I and Part II, and Henry V. Expect bloody battles, kings in disguise, poetic soliloquies, and a poignant exploration of what constitutes a good leader. Under the guidance of talented British director, Gregory Doran, this Shakespearian series promises to have you laughing, crying, and everything in between.

Still hungry for history? Celebrate the restoration of Béthanie, a French Mission Sanitorium dating back to 1875, with a historical tour. This Grade II historic building, now home to The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, is now open to the public, with tours in both English and Cantonese being held throughout March. Tucked away in Pokfulam, this charming collection of buildings is well worth a visit. Wander around the octagonal cowsheds, admire the breathtaking Béthanie chapel (with its replica stained glass windows, altars, and statues), and check out the epic view of the Peak from the Sir Y K Pao Studio. Make sure you visit the basement museum which showcases the history of French Missionary activity throughout Asia over the past three centuries, sponsored by BNP Paribas. Très bon!

For the first time ever, the public can embark upon a chronological exploration of the nation's art scene which has blossomed over four decades. This comprehensive stockpile of Chinese art totals 1,150 works - of which more than 80 will be on display in Hong Kong for the next month. The diverse mix of paintings, sculptures, and installations trace the influence of the Cold War, globalisation, and urbanisation on the nation's creative minds. A great way to kick off Hong Kong Arts Month with a bang.
