Taste of Hong Kong Lands in Hong Kong

If you live to eat, then this is the weekend you have been waiting for. The much-anticipated Taste of Hong Kong food festival kicks off this Thursday, bringing twelve of the city’s latest, greatest, and hottest restaurants to the Central Harbourfront. The debut event invites foodies to indulge in fours day of eating, drinking and entertainment, while rubbing shoulders with celebrity chefs and exploring eateries they haven’t yet discovered. Until March 13, guests can watch top chefs create mouth-watering dishes in live demonstrations, get hands on with interactive masterclasses, sip on champagne, wine and sake, and sample goodies from the market. Joining the line up are Aberdeen Street Social (pictured), Amber, Arcane, CHINO, Duck & Waffle, Duddell’s, Serge et Le Phoque, Tin Lung Heen, Tosca, Yardbird, The Ocean, Bibo, Café Grey Deluxe, and RŌNIN. [caption id="attachment_49538" align="aligncenter" width="660"] Duddell's Pan-fried M9 Wagyu Beef with Scallion Soy Sauce[/caption] Taste Festivals have previously launched in top culinary destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, London, Paris, Milan, and Sydney, but according to organisers at IMG, Hong Kong's insatiable appetite for food and the tastiest new hot spots have summoned it to our doorstep. "Hong Kong was an obvious choice to host the first event in Asia, with the city’s renowned food culture and wealth of culinary talent," says Robbie Henchman, head of IMG Asia-Pacific. "Discerning Hong Kongers and visitors to the city are invited to enjoy the city’s culinary highlights at one destination. In a food- centric city, I’m sure you’ll agree this is reason to celebrate!” Tickets start at $138 on weekdays and $168 for weekend sessions, with limited edition VIP passes priced at $548 for weekdays and $578 for weekend. Crowns are the official currency of the festival used to purchase tasting dishes and drinks (1 Crown = $10).
