If you caught comedian Johnson Lee's new talk show, TVB's
Sze U Tonight, you might notice more than a few passing similarities with America's
The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The host and the television station are under fire for creating a carbon copy of America's longest running and most watched late night talk show
, originally hosted by Johnny Carson. Here are just a few screengrabs from both shows.

TVB reportedly did not obtain the rights to
The Tonight Show. Lee's show also incorporates pieces from other American talk shows including aspects of
Jimmy Kimmel Live! (electric sign title card, pictured below) and the
Late Show with David Letterman (vintage microphone on his desk). While original ideas are hard to come by in show business, straight out creative plagiarism should not be entertained. Hong Kong deserves better.
