Sze U Tonight is Carbon Copy of America's Tonight Show

By Brian Adams 3 February 2015
If you caught comedian Johnson Lee's new talk show, TVB's Sze U Tonight, you might notice more than a few passing similarities with America's The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The host and the television station are under fire for creating a carbon copy of America's longest running and most watched late night talk show, originally hosted by Johnny Carson. Here are just a few screengrabs from both shows. [masterslider id=34] TVB reportedly did not obtain the rights to The Tonight Show. Lee's show also incorporates pieces from other American talk shows including aspects of Jimmy Kimmel Live! (electric sign title card, pictured below) and the Late Show with David Letterman (vintage microphone on his desk). While original ideas are hard to come by in show business, straight out creative plagiarism should not be entertained. Hong Kong deserves better. Screen Shot 2015-02-03 at 6.27.51 pmindex
