Steeper and Faster: Slide the City Returns to Hong Kong

By Sophie Pettit 23 August 2016
Get ready for another slippery summer because the epic Slide the City is back in Hong Kong! The 1,000 foot-long water slide has landed at Central Harbourfront for five days of slippery action, from August 24 to 29, and city dwellers are invited to beat the summer heat in the coolest way possible. Last year's event held at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal drew hefty crowds of thrill-seekers, but this year promises to attract even more city dwellers as organisers step it up a notch. Not only is the water slide located in the heart of the city, providing the perfect backdrop of Victoria Harbour, it's also propped up by the highest Slide the City tower within Asia, reaching around 10 metres, making it steeper and faster to ride - they're not kidding, we tried it! slide To add to the summer vibe, organisers have built an artificial mini-beach (pictured below) on the solid ground of the Central Harbourfront Event Space so visitors can work on their tans. beach Various entertainment facilities such as inflatable mazes, bubble soccer arenas (pictured below), and foam baths are also on offer to ensure a feverish summer for the sliders brave enough to conquer the beast. bubbles Tickets range from $280 to $580 with four time slots available each day. Online booking is now open, so if you're looking to make a splash this summer, get in there quick and grab your spot. Take a sneak peek at what's in store below. We are BACK!
