Restaurant Week Returns for 10th Edition

By Sophie Pettit 24 February 2016
Put on your stretchy pants Hong Kongers because Restaurant Week returns to the city this Friday for a 10-day stint. Now in its 10th edition, the bi-annual event gives foodies the chance to explore eateries they haven’t yet discovered, and has grown to become a calendar highlight since its humble beginnings back in 2011. Over 97 restaurants will open their doors to entice hungry Hong Kongers with specially designed 3-course lunch and dinner menus at fixed prices. Diners can select either ‘Category A’ (lunch for $198 or $398 for dinner) or ‘Category B’ (lunch for $118 or $298 for dinner). More than 20 newcomers will make their debut in the spring edition, including Issaya Siamese Club, Alchemy, Alfie’s by KEE, Carbone, FLINT at JW Marriott, Mercedes Me, Quest by Que, ZUMA, and many more. Organisers at DiningCity predict this will be their most successful edition yet, with more restaurants taking part than ever before. "We have already exceeded the number of reservations made during the last edition of Restaurant Week, which totalled 30,000," Synthia Liem, general manager of DiningCity tells Localiiz. "So I recommend booking now to ensure you don’t miss out on the chance to broaden your culinary horizons." So what are the best picks? “There are too many exciting names on the list, but if I had to name a few I would definitely recommend ZUMA, Carbone, Alchemy, and The Walrus." Not sure what you fancy? Have a browse through some of the Restaurant Week menus online and make your reservations. Bon appétit!
